Mindprint Expert Review

Stone Soup is a memory game drawn from a classic educational tale of cooperation. It is a collaborative board game that will encourage shared decision making, creative problem solving and a sense of community. Players work together to "cook" a soup by making matches of ingredients. The group will need to work together to match all the the ingredients before the fire under the kettle goes out. The original tale of Stone Soup is included with the game to build on the ideas of a community working together to accomplish one goal. While this game is designed for multiple players, it can be enjoyed by a single child. This game would be great for siblings who are learning the value of collaboration and supporting each other. It also grows self confidence and leadership qualities as children learn to explain their choices and be open to the ideas of others. This game allows students to become a part of the Stone Soup story and provides a forum for them to work through scenarios including receiving help from others, giving help when needed, and maintaining a positive outlook when unexpected situations occur, such as turning over a fire out card. No reading is required to play the game. The bright colors, fun imagery and theme of supporting you neighbors will engage most children.
