iPoe is a uniquely engaging app to interest students in the works of Edgar Allen Poe through a combination of engaging graphics and music. The app includes four short stories and Poe's biography. The illustrations are wonderfully creepy for those who enjoy mystery and suspense. The stories can be read in English, French or Spanish. Unfortunately, the app has no audio option, and students cannot adjust the font or screen contrast, look up definitions of challenging words, or turn off the sometimes distracting animations. However, for students who are comfortable reading e-books, this app can be an intriguing and uniquely engaging option.
