Mindprint Expert Review

This simple game requires no reading and can be a quick play for one to six players to develop speed, working memory, and attention. The board is a 9x6 grid of brightly colored squares. The tiles are a set of 2x2 squares that have a one-to-one correspondence with the colored squares on the board. After someone shouts "go", players aim to be the first to match their tiles to the correct spot on the board. The first to do so wins the round. Students could play this game alone by trying to place all tiles as quickly as possible. Students who struggle with speed, working memory or attention can develop their skills in quick games without the added challenge of reading or problem solving. Many students may tire of this simple game quickly, however, so parents should know what they aim to accomplish with this game and use it accordingly.
