Mindprint Expert Review

Pros

  • Students have plenty of wonderful illustrations to choose from to create a story on any topic they wish.
  • Can provide effective writing inspiration for everyone from young children to adults.
  • Students can collaborate or share their stories so they have an authentic audience.

Considerations

  • Younger students could feel overwhelmed by the many choices.
  • Students must create their own structure for the stories from the many illustrations which can be too many choices for some students.
  • The navigation can be confusing.

Mindprint Expert Review

This uniquely wonderful site provides students the opportunity to write digital poems, picture books and long-form books using illustrations from real artists. Students search any word or theme to find a drawing they find appealing. They move to a page to create their story which includes their original selection and all related images from the artist. They drag and drop the images they like to create a picture book using as many pages as they need. Next, they can customize the title and save the book to their account. Students working from home can choose to share their book with others, including giving an invitation to contribute to the book. Students also can choose to explore and read and comment on the stories of others. Students working from a classroom account, are protected so that their finished stories can be viewed by their classmates. Overall, an effective way to encourage students to write by providing them with professional illustrations for their inspiration.
