Wedgits is a well-made, good building toy that is built to be used by younger children but can still be enjoyed by older elementary and children with special needs. This starter set includes 15 shapes, but there are larger sets that will enable more intricate building. The sets are made of nested, primary-colored squares that students can use to build towers while they implicitly begin to understand angles and spatial relations. The shapes are great for students with weaker fine motor skills, since they fit together easily but do not require any snapping or unlocking. Students can simply enjoy exploratory, free play or practice following the diagrams in the guide book. While this toy will get the most use from your toddlers and young elementary students, it is the type of toy that older elementary students will come back to play and enjoy.
