Mindprint Expert Review

Pros

  • All the information on the site is uniquely targeted at savings and finance for children and teenagers.
  • Most of the episodes feature teenagers speaking about their real life issues, e.g. first paycheck.

Considerations

  • Site does not offer a fully controlled environment and has plenty of links to other sites.
  • Students cannot view full episodes without paying for them.
  • The site can be difficult to navigate and students will need to go to the teacher section to find specific topics of episodes.

Mindprint Expert Review

The bizkids website offers a unique collection of information to teach middle and high school students about financial planning, savings, taxes, etc. The student section offers a few cute games (e.g. Dollar a Glass is a lemonade stand game) to teach students about financial planning and links to other sites for kid-appropriate games and content. There are also clips to the Biz Kids series which features a cartoon dog or teenagers discussing financial planning. Watching the full episodes requires purchasing them from the online store but the episodes can easily be previewed by topic in the teacher section. Students can watch full episodes on TV and can search for show times by zip code. Biz kids offers a semi-controlled environment for playing around and the opportunity to expose students to important life planning skills.
