Mindprint Expert Review

Pros

  • Before starting the game, adults should assess prior knowledge so they can choose the appropriate level for the students and provide appropriate support as needed.
  • Players are given grid charts to help them find the answer.

Considerations

  • The game requires students to scan a busy game board while thinking through the answers to questions that can be challenging.
  • Students will need to listen carefully to the question, since unlike traditional bingo, the caller is not just giving a number.

Mindprint Expert Review

In this creative bingo-style game, students strengthen their understanding of place value in a relatively fun way and with relatively challenging questions. Questions cover concepts including greater than/less than, odd/even, addition/subtraction, and expanded form. Word problems might ask for an even number that falls between 290 and 300 or a number that is 100 more than 586. The game comes with plastic markers and double-sided place value grid clue cards for students to write their answers. The game has two different levels of difficulty. Level A consists of two to three digit numbers on the game board and Level B shows five to seven digit numbers. Overall, this can be an enjoyable game for students to grow more comfortable thinking about numbers provided they are playing with a group that will not feel intimidating.
