Mindprint Expert Review

Pros

  • The entertaining animations will keep students interested.
  • The categories and words provided are good choices for students of all ages.

Considerations

  • Rather than being constantly accessible, the dictionary is only available when one does not guess the word.
  • There is no accompanying audio to teach students proper word pronunciation.

Mindprint Expert Review

This is a fantastic hangman app for students who are not disturbed by the cartoon violence. Hangman can be a great option for students to work on their spelling, vocabulary and flexible thinking skills. This free version provides the same functionality as the paid version and allows students to pick from a variety of interesting topics including sports, countries, human bodies or just random. The paid upgrade will give access to 73 word categories, including including SAT vocabulary and foreign languages. Students can chose to play against each other and make up their own words. What makes the app so great are the animated visuals and changing backgrounds which the majority of students will find quite entertaining. However, some students could feel insulted by the verbal jabs or cartoon violence when they lose. *Note: This app was originally reviewed for iPad/iPhone. Some differences might apply.
