Mindprint Expert Review

Pros

  • Easy-to-learn game without a timer, but moves quickly enough to keep players engaged and attentive.
  • Provides opportunity for students to cope with the feeling of being on the receiving end of a Karma card.
  • There are fewer cards involved than other comparable games, which might make it more manageable for students who have difficulties with attention or organization.

Considerations

  • Students who have more difficulty coping with disappointments or take things personally might have a harder time with this game, but it can be a great learning experience if given the appropriate support.
  • The cards are not as colorful as the Uno deck, which might not be as appealing to those who already have played Uno.
  • The unusual font can be difficult to read.

Mindprint Expert Review

Karma is an easy to learn pick-up and discard card game for 2 to 6 players. Players start with an equal number of cards and take turns playing a numbered card of equal or higher value with the end goal of getting rid of all their cards. The Karma cards are the wild cards and often involve putting an opponent in an unfavorable position (i.e. Give the entire discard pile to a "friend"), which can be fun for the right group of competitive players but could cause hurt feelings. The game is relatively simple to learn and involves more luck than strategy. The most challenge is in deciding when to use the four different types of Karma cards. Overall Karma is a fine game that will not require a lot of intense thinking, and it can be a good option for family game night or peer-to-peer play. With the right support, the game can be used as a learning experience for how to be a good sport and cope with receiving Karma cards and to be sensitive in giving Karma cards.
