Mindprint Expert Review

Pros

  • Very straight-forward instructions and navigation, making it one of the easiest sites to use.
  • Screens are simple with no distractions.
  • Useful to help students organize ideas visually.

Considerations

  • The site will not automatically space out events by date or time, which could be problematic for students with weaker spatial perception.
  • There are no added features, such as the option to include pictures from the internet, change fonts, organize items by color.
  • Every timeline has the site's own header and footer which cannot be removed.

Mindprint Expert Review

This is a good free website to easily create a virtual timeline. Some students find it easier to understand, organize and remember sequential information in a visual format rather than straight text. Visual timelines can help organize ideas for writing paragraphs, creative writing, essays and research papers. This visual timeline site is one of the easiest to use, though it also lacks some of the fun features of other sites like adding color, changing fonts, drawing pictures, etc. Students do not need to sign in or register. They begin by giving their name and the project title. To add an event, the user fills in a pop-up box for name, short description, long description and an optional photo. It is easy to click and tap on the timeline to add, delete or move items. Timelines can include up to 43 events and finished timelines can be saved, emailed or printed. Overall, this is a simple, easy-to-use site to create virtual timelines.
