Mindprint Expert Review

Pros

  • Covers most of the core concepts of basic chemistry.
  • The multiple choice questions are short and well written.
  • Could be a good review the night before an exam

Considerations

  • App does not teach nor explain and the games are not fun.
  • Some students could have difficulty reading the white text on a light background

Mindprint Expert Review

This free app does not teach but could be a good multiple choice review before a chemistry exam. The app includes three, 20 multiple-choice question quizzes covering the basic concepts of high school chemistry. When students score 80% or higher on a quiz, they permanently unlock one of the three games. Unfortunately, the games will not be the incentive that motivates a student to finish the quizzes. Students receive no feedback during the quiz, only a score of percent correct at the end. Hence, this is truly an app to test one's knowledge, not for learning or fun. There is the option for students to see the 60 quiz questions in one Mega Chemistry Quiz Challenge and get answers as they go along, but even in this option there are no explanations just an indication of the correct answer. The questions are well written and accurate and can serve as a good review.
