Chatter Pix is a fun, free app that can be used as an educational tool to help students express ideas through pictures, drawing and voice recording. The app allows a user to take or use a photo, draw a line to make a mouth, and make a 30-second recording. There is a brief, animated tutorial, but the app is so easy to use it isn't really necessary. Students can enhance their pictures with 22 stickers, 12 frames and 11 photo filters, and can easily save their work to their camera roll, email the image or share on YouTube. The app has a 12+ rating because of the social sharing feature, but the decorations will appeal to much younger students. Overall, ChatterPix is a cute app that teachers could use to motivate students to verbalize their thoughts or parents could be comfortable allowing their children to enjoy for creative play.
