  • Game is fast-paced so the game truly reinforces fast facts.
  • Cards use the same problems repetitively so there is opportunity for reinforcement in a single 5-minute game.

Considerations

  • A child still learning math facts could grow discouraged if the other person plays at a much faster rate.
  • A children could need to hold many cards at once and struggle with scanning and even holding the cards.
  • As with many fast-paced, competitive games, this may not be the best choice for children with processing speed, control, or anxiety weaknesses

Mindprint Expert Review

This is an excellent, fast-paced, easy-to-learn card game for students to practice their basic addition and subtraction. Players race to get rid of all their cards by playing the brightly numbered cards that are a the solution to the math problem. For example, if the card on top of the discard pile is 4 +/-2, players race to play card with a 2 or a 6. If young students end up with too many cards in their hand, though, they could have trouble holding them or scanning for the card they need. This game offers an authentically fun way to practice simple math facts. However, it is best for an adult to play with a child to help when a child is struggling with the computation or processes more slowly so the child does not become discouraged.
