Mindprint Expert Review

Pros

  • The puzzle book offers both simple puzzles for beginners and challenging 3-D puzzles for advanced players.
  • This game looks more fun than most puzzle games and offers a good "mental workout" for a broad age range.
  • Just following the set-up can be a good exercise in paying attention to visual details.

Considerations

  • The puzzles can be very difficult and students with visual weaknesses could easily grow frustrated, even with the answer book.
  • The beads are small and may cause difficulty for students with fine motor weaknesses.

Mindprint Expert Review

This is a challenging, attractive one-player game that enables children to plan and work through visual puzzles. The student must follow the diagram in the book to set-up the puzzle and then use different combinations of connected beads to complete the 2- or 3- dimensional puzzle pattern. There is only one solution per puzzle which increases the challenge. Kanoodle develops flexible thinking and attention to visual details for a broad age range. Most children, even those with visual weaknesses, should be able to complete the 2-D puzzles. Students with good spatial reasoning skills will love the challenge of the 3-D pyramid puzzles. It also has a neat turntable so students can rotate the puzzle if they need multiple perspectives. There are over 100 puzzles and different levels of difficulty to choose from so this game has a lot of longevity.
