Mindprint Expert Review

Boggle is a classic multi-player word game that will help students work on their spelling and word recognition skills. One player shakes the cube to have 16 random letters fall in a four by four configuration. Although the shaking is the fun part, sometimes students may grow frustrated when the cubes do not fall properly into place. There is no limit to the number of players, and the goal is to write as many 3+ letter words as possible before the three minute timer expires. The game is a great way to have younger children practice spelling short words and offers a challenge to older students to make longer words and in greater quantities. When time is up, players compare the words on their lists and players receive points for finding words no one else spotted. The game is competitive and fun, but opportunity arises for arguments about someone writing after time was out and whether or not a word is legitimate. Younger players may find it to be too much writing and will grow discouraged if they compete against experienced spellers.
