Bloxy HD is a virtual brick building app which enables students to creatively build a scene of their choosing. Students can choose from three different backgrounds, over 50 different bricks and 20 figures. Students can save, take photos, and share their progress with parents and friends. Students never run out of blocks and they can easily change the bricks, textures, colors, etc. as they go, though it does require a multi-click process. There are in-app purchases to buy specialized scenes. This app can provide unlimited opportunity for creativity and imagination while developing visual-spatial perception and planning. While an app cannot provide the benefits of interacting with real building materials, this app provides a good virtual alternative when physical play is not an option.
