Geometry Problems Checklist (a)

Before I Begin Solving:

  1. Get paper, pencils, colored pencils, and additional materials such as manipulatives (pattern blocks), ruler, and protractor
  2. Read the directions. Do I understand what I need to do?
  3. Review the example problems from my teacher, notes, or book

While I Solve:

  1. Read the problem twice
  2. If no picture or it's too small, draw the problem neatly. Use graph paper or a ruler if it helps
  3. If I'm stuck, talk through or describe what I see in the problem out loud or use manipulatives
  4. Carefully write out each step so I can go back and check my work
  5. Check my answers to make sure they are complete and make sense. Re-solve if needed. If I am unsure, check my notes or ask for help
